An Idea for Date Night

Why not join in a nationwide effort to “unchain” yourself ? I recently posted this on Sticks of Fire and thought it bears repeating here for my readers. All two of you. (Can't help adding that even though there's probably more like four or five of you.)

Locally owned businesses generate up to 58 percent more economic activity than chains. Tonight, let's eat, drink, and be merry while helping our hometown heroes get ahead at the same time. This is not only about downtown Tampa - every nook and cranny of your own special corner of the world deserves to be explored. There are haunts to discover and characters just waiting to fascinate and delight. Save McDonald’s for another day. Today is your chance to forgo a nationally owned franchise in exchange for a familiar face.

Do some good for your own neighborhood.

Oh god yes.. I totally agree with you. Last night we dined at Hard Rock Café… I regretfully ordered a ‘veggie sandwich’ only to pay $11 for bread, lettuce, hummus and cucumber. What a disappointment! While eating this overpriced dish I could only think of the countless other restaurants available –with better food- that are independently owned.

Which reminds me, for your Tampa Bay folks.. please support Evos!! It’s an environmentally friendly –free range beef- lots o’ vegan options- restaurant. Ahhh..Evos…I miss that place.

Great idea! SR 54/75 folks - Cap's Tiki Hut is way fun. Go on a weekend and sit outside where the band is. Food is decent, service varies, but atmosphere makes it all worthwhile. Go and have fun!

We keep meaning to try Caps. But it always looks crowded. Heard it is good though.
