Ka-Ching!
A possible pandemic and the havoc it would wreak are all over the news. President Bush gave a speech yesterday outlining our government's plan of action. We will spend millions on stockpiling anti-viral medications alone.
Just for kicks - when viewing or reading such stories - count how many times Tamiflu is mentioned. (Sometimes once - sometimes more than once.) Then count how many times they mention Donald Rumsfeld owning stock in the company that makes Tamiflu. Not that often, right? Free advertising, record profits, and zero accountability - business as usual for our good friends in Washington.
Repubs sure are well connected. What do they know that the rest of us don't?
Thanks to reader Tamira for this thought provoking heads-up. As always, crisis isn't all bad if the president's men can make some money off it.

Wow! So that’s what this is all about. I thought it was pretty strange that our slacker president would actually care about his citizens. This makes much more sense (and is more his speed) to instead care about the profits involved with ‘helping people’. Gurrr….
True Story: I went to the pharmacy at Target yesterday, the clerk told me they took about two dozen calls asking for Tamiflu... FEAR>CONSUME>FEAR>CONSUME
Sounds like a good investment. Thanks for the stock tip!
Interesting that this sort of trivia thing doesn't pop into your mind when a Dem. is in office.
Hey did you hear that Mikey saw Timothy Dalton in Target? Now that's news you can use.

If Bush and the Joker are only now looking at ROG.VX with smiley faces, they're months too late.
The pandemic has been a discussion in our house for two years and has been in the media for six months or more. Maybe they missed it because they were watching the Disney Channel with Brown. You give them far too much credit for insightfulness. :-)
Perhaps, but I think our "liberal" media should mention the connection between Gilead Sciences, the co. that makes Tamiflu, and Rummy when mentioning the anti-viral meds. Full disclosure would be a nice change of pace.
That's all I'm saying.
