Compelling Video
I posted about Dr. Sultan the other day. Watch her interview on Al Jazeera. While I believe every religion has extremists who have committed, or continue to commit, atrocities in God's name - lately, Islamic fundamentalists have been sinking to new lows. I hope more good Muslims, or people of Middle Eastern descent, speak out against them. In Arabic.

Thanks for posting that link. As the husband was departing for his latest of many trips to the Middle East we were talking about the reaction of scholars, pundits, world leaders etc. to the violent response to the Danish cartoons. It's not just Arabic voices that need to say that this is not a religious issue. This is about people who are unsophisticated, uneducated and ignorant. People who are kept that way not because they are stupid but because their leaders-both governmental and religious-want it that way. Instead of debating tolerance v. intolerance of Muslim sensibilities we should be wondering why Hashim and can't read.
I second that.
