Hardy Har Har

The funniest people in the world are those who, as a collective unit, have suffered the most. Which is why most of our laughs come from writers-performers who are black, Jewish, or Irish.

WASPy men? Funny lookin'. WASPy women? Please - after the sex gets old, so does sticking around for their less-than-average conversational skills. This theory also extends to political points of view. Come on, be honest. With whom would you rather roll around and trade grosser-than-gross jokes - liberals or conservatives? Republican rulers not only make bad lovers - they're a bore as well.

Fun to make fun of, but that's about it.

I guess it depends on the degree of Republicanism. Two of my brothers are Rebublican; why?
I don't know since we all work for a living and come from a working class family, it confuses me too, but anyway.

They're funny. The tell funny, usually a little dirty, jokes. They drink, and dance (not with each other - at least I don't think so), and lie about the women they've been with just like anyone else.

But they aren't the wacked out, end-times, W Cronies that have somehow become emblematic of Republicans nowadays.

So I guess it depends on the degree.

That said, I think that I'm getting through to my younger brother though. I finally got him to see that Labor Unions are not satan's tool and that the media is not leftists.

Couple more years, he'll be there.

Van - working class family? Like that represents dems?! Let me see: Kennedy, Kerry, Edwards. Yeah, the poster children for the working class.
Also, it's funny that studies in fact show that the MSM does lean to the left yet, somehow, liberals always miss that fact. BTW, several well known dems were Republicans first - so when did they become funny? The right thinks it's hilarious that you got stuck with Howard Dean (yes, he was GOP first). Full story at Kate's favorite conservative blog - I'll let her tell you which one it is!

There are exceptions to every rule - like Dennis Miller was funny before he got nasty and mean. PJ O'Rourke is a hoot and a half. But as a whole - most of the funniest people are either black, Jewish or Irish. These ethnic groups are also typically liberal or moderate Democrats.

We're a godd*mned riot. Admit it.
