Hit It
Davis and Crist are statistically tied.
In this recent poll, Crist is still polling less than fifty percent and
with a lead inside the margin of error, even though:
- Crist began airing TV ads more than two months before Davis did.
- A battle-tested Davis successfully weathered a $5 million dollar smear
campaign funded by special interest.- Davis defeated a popular, dynamic candidate in a hard-fought primary, while
Crist coasted to victory over a candidate who struggled to get traction. This means that as Davis begins the process of unifying the Democratic Party,
his position against Crist will only strengthen.
Here we go.

I always believe the polls that democratic candidates put on their web site. This race won't even be close Crist is the next Governor of Florida he actually shows up for work.
This poll has been reported about in the paper and non-partisan sites as well. So believe it baby.
I am not so sure that the reasoning is totally true. Davis may lead now amony moderates, but people will see that Crist is moderate for sure.
Plus Crist I am certain will spend $30 million pasting Davis as a liberal do nothing congressman, among other things. Davis is not that well known now, but that will change.
But Rasmussen is a reputable pollster, so I trust the poll. (They were dead on in 2004) But every poll has had him leading by 4-6, and others do too, so even though there is a margin of error, Im betting that currently it is a 5 point margin or so.
Strategic Vision has him up by 8, and i always take off about 3 points from theirs b/c of their slight conservative bias, so that still follows my analysis of a 5 point lead.
As for the conservative base, he has it, how do u think he got 64% of the vote, not all 33% for Gallagher were the far right, but some were. Among evangelical christians, crist was polling in a number of polls about 55-35. Im glad many were not following the christian coalition recommendations. They will come out for him in the fall, count on that.
Im not saying Davis cant win, but the odds are in Crist favor.

Here is the latest zogby poll. The last one was similar, and i considered it an outlier, but this one is once again yet the same. I will wait for a mason-dixon poll to come out. They have been showing a large lead as well for Crist, so I am anxious to see if that will happen again.
Crist 51%, Davis 36%
