I'm not sure how I feel about any of the candidates yet but I have to praise Obama for at least one voter he's won over already. Almost unbelievably, the campaign is so long the just turned 17 year old daughter will be old enough to vote in the primaries. If she's any indication, the youth vote might be more than a cipher in this election cycle. Seeing how he's motivated her to keep up with issues and the other candidates assures me he's not just a pretty face. I might owe him a vote just out of gratitude.
Hilary.
The race in the Democratic primary, especially in 2007, is about who will challenge Hillary Clinton - who will emerge as the "Anti-Hillary." If some Democrats view Hillary as unelectable, then an alternative candidate needs to emerge. I think Edwards has the best chance of being that candidate, but he has to fight against Vilasck, Obama, Richardson, Dodd, and Kucinich - who all have either exploratory committees or have created presidential campaign committees.
Richardson, Vilsack, & Dodd are "no names" & have to clear that hurdle. Obama not tested. Biden & Kucinich, just not a chance.
Edwards 08. Tomorrow begins today.
