How Much Do You Support Our Troops?

On Thursday, MoveOn members are gathering outside hundreds of congressional offices to keep the pressure on Congress to block the escalation. We'll be holding signs and listening to compelling speakers, and we've invited the media.
We want to make sure we have a good-sized group from your district. Can you join us at a "Congress Decides" letter delivery on Thursday around lunchtime in Brooksville?
Here are the details of the event:

A majority of those in Congress oppose the president's plan to escalate the war. Now we have to make sure they stop him. In a few weeks Congress will have to decide how far they're willing to go to block the escalation.
They're home for recess and this is our best opportunity to influence what they do when they return to Washington. They need to know that we're not going to rest until they start bringing our troops home.

It saddens me to see what your blog has become. It was, at one time, an interesting place to have debates an discussion. Now, it appears you have moved to the extreme left and do not even hear those that disagree or present a different view. Those people are either called names, cussed, or dismissed entirely as ignorant. I also would say that MOST people do not come here to hear about your breasts or to see what picture you have posted.
I implore you to take a step back and read some of the comments left by some who apparently have nothing else to do and obviously love to "hear" themselves. The comments that respond to this will probably prove my point.
Again, although you probably don't care, it is with some sadness that I don't plan on coming here again. I wish you well when you finally get to Colorado for good.

I disagree with you completely - if I didn't hear alternative points of view, I wouldn't visit and comment on sites such as yours or Jim's or Bob's. And when I call for more responsibility from parents and yell about vaccines that could poison our daughters or call for teachers to improve their lot in life - these are not extreme left-wing positions at all.
Don't kid yourself, we all like to hear ourselves just a little bit. This site has always been about politics, parenting, and there are many women out there who can identify with working breasts and the efforts to return them to their former glory. In other words, different people come here for different reasons. Who are you to say they have nothing else to do? Sometimes I want politics without an ounce of feminine charm or personality, too. But not all the time.
I'm sorry that you don't plan on coming here again. It proves that you are the one moving to an extreme position because you are discounting a voice of opposition that speaks clearly with just a touch of humor and irreverence.
I'm good for the soul, H. But don't let me stop you. Take care.

Interesting that he picks this post to say goodbye. Bringing our troops home isn't a left wing issue anymore. I'm moderate and completely against the troop surge.
Sheesh, some people confuse "listening to" with "being persuaded."
I've always wondered what commenters think they accomplish when they leave a blog in a cyber huff.
Basically, mr. H, this is a blog to make sure that this lady is always out yelling about something...it is, plain and simple, an attention getter. I agree with you, Mr. H...I refuse to give her the attention she craves so dearly. Like Britney, this Kate needs help...FAST!

I am not certain why you would select Mr H as receiving the honor. Maybe the honor should be "right wing conservative" award. I say that b/c you seem to be giving the award to conservatives who severely disagree with liberals.
For Im sure that you would never name the people who slandered me for the discussion about the teachers salary, on an hourly basis, not being very low, considering the time off they receive. I actually had a blogger say I am mentally ill. Yet you would probably give me the honor b/c I disagreed with the people on the blog.
remember, its a discussion, people are allowed to have their opinions, and just b/c they dont agree with you, doesnt mean they deserve an award like that. Only people who regularly engage in personal attacks should be receiving an award like that.
Ms CC may deserve that award. She engaged in personal attacks. She may not understand that by nature liberals are more often more activist, pushing hard for change, and trying to write letters and such, while conservatives are typically more laid back, preserving the good, and just voice their power in the voting booth. (obviously there are some exceptions)
If you thoroughly read the entry, the distinction was due not to the disagreement, but to the sniping "I won't read the blog anymore" addendum. I creditted him with a thoughtful critique sans that portion. It's a childlish outburst like saying "I'm taking my toys and going home" or sticking your fingers in your ears and going "Blah blah blah, I can't hear you."
Discourse and disagreement are the lifeblood of blogs. If we all got along and thought the same we wouldn't even be here.
For the record I'm bent to the right of moderate.

Im not sure giving the all too popular "im never going to read your blog again" line constitutes the arse award, maybe a whiny child award.

Might I say Mr. H, “fascinating repartee.” I couldn’t agree with you more. Some of the blowhards who comment here just talk, talk, talk, talk, talk and then talk some more. Do you feel me Mr. H.? Of course you do, you brought it up—silly me. What was I thinking? Don’t answer that Mr. H.—what am I saying; you won’t be coming back, so how would you answer anyway.

Mr. H., go easy on the little lady though, if she wants to drone on and on and on espousing her liberal ways, well that’s her. Even if you and I know how close-minded she is, let her have her little say—you and I, we know what’s what.
She did tear you a pretty good new one though, didn’t she Mr. H? I’ll bet you won’t know which one to crap out of for quite a while. Some people are just that way. You try to give a little constructive criticism and they have to blow it all out of proportion. You can’t reason with some people. That’s why those of us like you and me, we have to stick together and keep hammering away. We are right and they are wrong, but their minds are too closed to get any points across.
