This brings to mind the days of the Apollo moon program. Upon reentry when the space capsule reached the midway point in the atmosphere, all communication would black out. It seems the plasma surrounding the capsule prevented penetration of radio waves. So we sat waiting one minute, two minutes, three minutes, “Apollo this is Houston over,” three and a half minutes, “Apollo Houston over,” four minutes, “Apollo Houston over,” several seconds pass then crackle, static, hiss, “Houston Apollo we read,” breathe.
So, here we sit waiting online click refresh, “Kate this is Tampa over,” close browser, online click refresh, “Kate Tampa over,” close browser, online click refresh, “Kate Tampa over,” close browser, online click refresh…
