Pro-Union, Pro-America
The Republican Party sold out workers' rights to America's CEOs. Again.
This week, Republicans blocked a vote in the Senate on the Employee Free Choice Act, legislation that would make it easier for workers to organize a union and fight for higher wages, better benefits and improved working conditions.
Write a letter to your local newspaper about the Republican Party's efforts to silence the American people and obstruct our democracy.
Cause they suck.

I was in a union briefly at my last job ... they didn't seem to do much except take a chunk of my paycheck. Honestly. I wanted to like it. But really, it was a non existant factor. And when you see bosses at newspapers laying off scores of reporters (oh, "buyouts" as in "we'll fire you anyway if you don't take a 'buyout'") and the unions doing nothing .... makes me wonder.

I'm pro-union, but you're right. Some are not effective. However, people should be allowed to join or form unions in order to improve them.
That's my take.
