Step 5: Talk To Your Retailer
Remember our energy revolution?
This week we're taking on the other half of the lightbulb selling equation - retailers. We need to get these energy wasting lightbulbs off the store shelves!
For this step, have a chat with your local retailer. Let them know you won't be buying any more energy wasting lightbulbs. Ask your local store to stop selling them.
Click here for talking points and a printable fact sheet.
Fact: Less than 10 percent of the energy used by incandescent lightbulbs is converted into light - the rest is turned into heat. Over 90 percent waste! It's like selling a defective product.

I posted this before, but late, and it was way down the list:
Its unfortunate how many people I talk to about these compact flourescent bulbs, and they either dont believe me, or are just too lazy and complacent to buy the new bulbs. Some others even only think short term.
My whole house has CLF's, and our electric bill average is only about $100 a month for a 2000 sf house.
My wife's sister, who believes the 'Gore' acle, doesnt even attempt to listen to my things, her avg electricity bill is $330 per month for a 1500 sf house. Also, in the same sentence as "we need to stop using all oil", she mentions they are buying a Dodge dakota (17 mpg).
I guess that Im the doer that barely talks about it, and some people are the talkers that never do anything about it...
Yeah, I'm kinda sick of the "applauders" who don't do a goddamn thing after the lights come on in the theater.
Good for you. ;-)
