Is John Edwards the man to support for the Democratic nomination?
Flying below the radar, the former vice-presidential candidate is pullingThe most progressive platform...hmmm...go, John, go.
off a feat that Democratic consultants have long considered impossible: staking
out the most progressive platform among the viable candidates while preserving
an aura of electability. In head-to-head polling against the likes of Rudy
Giuliani and Mitt Romney, Clinton and Obama have managed to post only modest
leads. Edwards, by contrast, not only bests every Republican candidate in the
race, he trounces them -- by an average of twelve points.

First hand encounters with edwards supporters have been less than pleasant for me over the last few years. It's hard to rally around someone whose true-believers can be utter dicks
Not to worry. The Clinton war machine gets any notion that he's getting too close and they'll slit his throat.
Um, "flying below the radar"? I guess you could call whoring it out to any media outlet that'll listen while pathologically refusing to take any real stance on issues and, at the same time, unleashing the wife to go out and "send messages" to various populations letting them know he supports them but not, you know, in person "flying below the radar", but I think it would be easier to just call Rolling Stone irrelevant.
Bleeding from the jugular and unburdened by bullshit, Edwards will be the next President.

Utter Dick
It is true. All the Edwards supporters that you meet are nuts. Seems like a shame because I like Edwards as a candidate. Oh well.
What will be gained by supporting the nomination of a candidate who could easily lose in the Presidential election?
Ideally, there would be a way to end crime. Then there could be a timetable to dismiss all government employees who enforce criminal law. In practice, that is absurd. You might support the nomination of Senator Clinton or Senator Obama. In practice, isn't that also absurd?
Perhaps you have questions about exactly what the views of John Edwards are. Perhaps you want to know what his priorities will be. Perhaps you want to know whether there are any promises that he is willing to make to earn your support. Now is the time to ask. If you receive satisfactory answers, you should seriously consider supporting the nomination of John Edwards.
Think of this as your choice of a meal before you run a marathon. A large serving of turkey smothered in gravy and washed down with three glasses of wine won't help. Plain pasta with a touch of basil might help. I'm not advocating the use of anabolic steroids. I'm simply recommending a sensible meal to help achieve victory.
