Hold the Antibiotics
If you've seen SuperSize Me, read Fast Food Nation or saw the movie, or possess an ounce of common sense in that head -
You know fast food is bad for you.
But so is red meat, drugs, and f*ckin' around. And that hasn't stopped you.
Here's some good news - Tyson Foods recently announced it will produce all of its fresh chicken without antibiotics — selling it in grocery stores under a "Raised Without Antibiotics" label. As the nation’s largest producer of chicken, Tyson is setting an important precedent for protecting public health.
Now it's time to urge fast-food companies to follow Tyson's lead.
Currently, an estimated 70 percent of antibiotics and related drugs in the United States are used in the feed and water of healthy animals — a practice with serious consequences for human health. Bacteria that are constantly exposed to antibiotics develop resistance to these drugs. When humans get sick from resistant bacteria, the antibiotics prescribed will no longer work.
So enjoy that Big Mac and sign our petition to the nation's top fast-food companies urging them to help end this dangerous practice.

Can't wait to see how this gets "explained" in respect to the clothing arguments.

Seems to be a perfect practical example of our argument.
tiny... laughed reading your comment!!
But as someone who worked in the health care industry...this is a serious problem. Our addiction to anti-bacterial this and anti-bacterial that has created a huge problem...and with too much exposure to antibiotics in places they shouldn't be...we have developed a strains of antibiotic resistant germs as well as depleted ourselves of good bacteria that helps fight these germs. As the head of a household that refuses to give up their carnivorous ways i am all for buying meat raised without antibiotics.
I am guessing that now in addition to sewing my own clothes I will be told to raise and slaughter my own meat...looking forward to it!!!
Peace!
I just joined the Big Mac Attack.
BTW, I have some extra rutabagas. The third kid from the youngest had a hole in his pocket last spring plantin’ time and we were overrun with ‘em. They are home canned and do not have any of those preservatives in them. Some out-of-towners say they are almost untouched by human hands. Not sure what that means.
Any way, I would be willing to barter some of these extra rutabagas for some fresh cumquats if any one out there has any.

You'll have to farm your own fowl, fowl farmer.
It's easy. First you'll need some eggs. Heat them up a bit to get chickens. However, I suspect some will argue the reverse of that.

No reason to do that as I'm sure there's farmers somewhere within a 50 mile radius of the place you live that raise animals without the use of anti-biotics.
In the area in which I live, in the past my wife has pitched in with several others to purchase a whole or half cow that had been raised without the use of anti-biotics, and they divided it up among the participants. Costs a little more, but no biggie. If the demand is high enough, the market provides its own solutions.
Jeebus. Was that for real?
My question, with so little demand for blind ignorance why all the supply?
