I'm No Rudy Fan
But I'm not gonna knock the guy for dressing in drag.
And fooling around not once, not twice, but several times isn't nearly as bad as flying off to make millions while the real heroes of 9/11 got sick cleaning up the mess.
Some even died.
So who cares about his children's emotional issues?
Rudy can't even sort out his stance on abortion. Explain again how marrying his second cousin affects me?
Don't we have enough ammunition without debasing the argument with comments about his personal life?
Just sayin'...

It's the whole crux of the campaign cycle. You don't have to be Democrat or Republican to see the bull that's being fed to everyone that has no bearing on the situation.
John Edwards overpaid for a haircut. Hillary only has shown cleavage once at campaign events, Fred Thompson wore loafers and got around in a golf cart at the Iowa state fair... So WHAT?!? And the list goes on for every candidate. Oh sure, we can find reasons behind ever little thing but it's nit picking folks. Nit picking.
"The haircut means he's out of touch!"
"The cleavage means she's more conservative and out-of-touch!"
"He doesn't even have it in him to walk among the masses, what a maroon!"
And the list goes on for every single candidate in the field and yet I only listed the 3 nit-pick reasons for the 3 candidates I listed. You can find superficial shit on Obama, McCain, Rudy (as Kate stated), Romney, Dodd, Richardson, etc, etc, etc... It's all irrelevant.
Everyone has real items that matter this election cycle - positions on Iraq, on the economy, health care, tax inequality and tax reform, national debt, big government waste (hello Office of Homeland Security!) and what not but that's all being lost in the superficial noise of materialism.
only because his most staunch supporters are the same hyppocrites who never shut up about bill clinton's infidelities instead of important matters, that is why it is all important.
So two wrongs make a right, Anon? Because a segment of the Republican party dragged the Presidency through the mud with the help of Clinton, that somehow allows the rest of us for using the same dirty tricks forevermore?
I'm with Kate for the same reason I support Richardson. What matters is the record. If you can get him on what he's done while he's been in acting in the official capacity of his office, great! And there is PLENTY to disagree with Rudy on there. This kind of mudslinging, however, just hurts us all.
Quaker just hit on a point that disgusted me from reading some of the political blogs last week regarding Senator Craig's arrest and possible sexuality questions... He's a hypocrite but in a way -- the Left was just as bad as the right. Oh, I found the whole thing funny but I wasn't rejoicing at the Republicans eating one of their own. I wasn't crying for a resignation or saying the Senate should investigate this guy... He's got problems he's gotta deal with but making a big thing about the whole situation seemed like a joke (and I'm saying both parties made a big deal). What's been an anti-war mantra the last few years? "No one died when Clinton lied"? Same situation though Craig being in the closet and staunchly anti-gay (or maybe Bi and still staunchly anti gay) is hypocrisy but it's a personal issue.
There are bigger things the Senate needs to focus on besides wedge issues -- and Craig's sexuality or voting on sexuality based topics isn't one of them.
I'm not defending Craig, but I am calling BS on the entire coverage. Same thing with the presidential campaigns as noted above -- it's moot. Governing is more important and how one will stand on the issues.
I'm way behind on this. What was the cross-dressing thing? Was this where he showed up in drag as a joke a couple times? Is that a serious issue? I'm asking because I really haven't followed it.
My stance is this: Anything good enough for Uncle Miltie, Eddie Murphy and Monty Python is good enough for me.
When cross-dressing is outlawed, only outlaws will be cross-dressing.
There. I said it.
Now move along. There's nothing to see here, people.
