What's Wrong With Republicans?

If I were a right-winger, God forbid, I'd give this guy some serious consideration. I mean, come on, he's better than Rudy.

At least John McCain's holiday greeting doesn't have a subliminal floating cross in the background.

Plus he includes everyone - instead of just talking to those who share his faith.

Mitt or Huck over this guy? Really?

I don't get you people.

I had more respect for him last time when he insisted he would not pander to the religious right. This time, it's exactly what he's doing.

Plus he stomped all over much of my respect for him during one of his many appearances on the Daily Show when he insisted only those who support this conflict support the troops.

Um...I worked with my husband through deployments, kept him connected to his children (and vice versa) and supported my husband through PTSD twice as a result of this. Tell me again how I'm not supporting the troops? And explain to me how my veteran husband who has served through all this isn't supporting HIMSELF and his friends?

All the Republican candidates scare me. I just wish Ron Paul had a better chance and maybe a more balanced view of the world.

McCain... I respect the guy but he's lost my trust for the same reasons Reiza mentions. I mean, kissing up to Bush for political reasons and what he's said and done for the last few years hurts him more than anythig.

If he stayed John McCain and hadn't kissed up to the Religious Right or Err George, it'd be easier to get behind him.

I mean, shit, how can you put faith in a man who parodies a Beach Boys song into "Bomb Iran"?

I agree completely with Reiza and jpf. The thing that drew me to McCain last time and actually drew me to Dole way back when, was not that I agreed with them 100% on every issue. Far from it. It was that they honestly seemed to believe their stances and be politicking from personal conviction rather that. They had integrity.

I don't know if it is because they listened to the bad advice of their political would-be king-makers or if they got desperate in the 11th hour and lost faith in their politics and themselves, but they whored themselves out. Literally.

Personally, that's key. I don't have to agree with a candidate's entire lunch list of stances so long as they're presenting them with personal integrity. So long as that's there, there's hope that a compromise can be reached because I know that on some level, both the candidate and I believe what we believe and do what we do because we truly care about our fellow citizens, not about our "legacy" or our campaign coffers or just winning.

That's why I like Richardson and Paul and used to like Huckabee before he lost his damn mind and started flip-flopping around like a fish in the Sahara. Of course, none of them will get the nomination so once again it's voting for the lesser of two evils: Someone who sacrificed their integrity for political power and contributions, which pretty much sums up all the Republican candidates, or someone who never had any to begin with, which would sum up the leading Democrat runners.

Gosh have none of you folks seen McCain in action???? The Gang of 14, McCain-Feingold, etc. This man will sabotage the use of the internet, given a chance...as Hillary has already threatened to do to Talk radio since libs cannot find anyone who can hold an audience.

Fred Thompson had the best Christmas message honoring our troops in harms way.

Anyone else notice how it is not news now that we're making great advances in Iraq??? Good old dependable liberal Antique media.

That's why I get my "fair and balanced on the web....at least here people admit (for the most part) their bias.

Hope you are all having as cool a Yule as I am.....
