But I was NOT shot today coming out of New Life Church after a rousing service of "We're saved - everybody else is going to hell" and signing petitions that encourage a third party candidate who will outlaw abortion and arm every lunatic in the country.

Kate, I heard there was a second shooting in-state this afternoon... or was it also in the Springs?
Early this morning right outside Denver and then around 1pm ten minutes from my house at New Life Church.
Lunatics who don't have access to mental health care but plenty of access to firearms.
And the desire for fame. Which they'll get. Cable news guarantees it.

Humorously, although somewhat uncomfortably so, the first thing I thought when I read about this was indeed, "Oh God, who did she piss off so badly that they'd drive from Denver to Colorado Springs just to pump her full of lead?"
When I realized there was no way humanly possible for me to develop a short list, I decided to just go look for gay porn instead.

My question is: Why is a church security guard packing heat?
I'm with ya. On the one hand, I'm glad she was there. Killing that kid saved many innocent lives. On the other hand, I'm not comfortable with 15,000 seat worship centers, armed security guards, ATM machines inside, etc.
Not sure what that is, but it's not a church.
