All Aboard

Barack Obama visited Tampa today, attracting over 20,000 people to the St. Pete Times Forum. His message of hope attracted a diverse crowd and national media.

A bit more hoopla this time around. Those of us who attended one of his first campaign stops in Ybor City last year aren't surprised.

He inspired us back then.

My kids became fans right away.

And so the O-Train picks up speed.

For all the nay saying from opponents, you'll note it's Obama who attracts 70k to a staduim, 20k to an arena ...

None of the others. None.

That says something (yep, let the anonymous posters say it says only dimwits pile into a stadium ... then let them slug it out with Broncos fans ... people fill large arenas because there is something there they want to be part of)

Hmmm, havn't seen McBush fill a stadium of late. I'm sure the support is out there, though.

Wow, 20,000 black racists there to support one of their own?

Well, it was probably only 10,000 racists, and 10,000 fools counting on "hope" and "change," but not knowing what they're hoping for, nor what change, if any, will accomplish anything at all.

Or maybe they just wanted to hear him say again how great it will be when he talks to (more) terrorists...maybe some friends of his terrorist buddy Bill.......

Florida's always been important, but he wasn't allowed to campaign there. Are his policies more to your liking than McCain? Then vote for him. If not, then don't.

But don't let the whole primary nonsense get you away from the fact that he's an energizing candidate who's best for our country.

Bush's policies must end.

He wasn't allowed to campaign there? Bullmalarkey! They were all allowed to campaign there, the State Police wasn't going to stop him. Howard Duck Dean stopped them. They are all just politicians. Not a one of them deserve our vote, not a one! However; like you said, Bush's policies must end, we must get out of Iraq, and I believe, rightly or wrongly, O'bama is the only idiot that can get us out of and make any difference.

But don't tell anyone that they weren't "allowed" to campaign in Florida, they were welcome, and they have no problem coming now, chicken scratch wussies that they are!

COUNT EVERY VOTE!!!!

If you don't count every vote, then even if Obama wins, he will be rightfully considered to be an illegitimate candidate for the presidency. For years, we have been complaining about how Bush and the Supreme Court stole the election, and how every vote, IN FLORIDA, wasn't counted. We MUST count EVERY vote this time out. IN FLORIDA and IN MICHIGAN, too.

But Obama wasn't even on the ballot in Florida. How is that fair?

Hillary campaigned in Florida right before the Jan. 29 Primary.

He CHOSE not to campaign. COUNT EVERY VOTE!!!! Just like we should have last presidential election. COUNT EVERY VOTE!!!

He and his campaign made a choice. A choice that is now coming back to bite him in the ass, a choice that shows a lack of ability to plan for future contingencies, but a choice he made nonetheless. That's why it's fair. The option was never denied to him.

If "fair" is the issue, how is it fair that the voting populace of Florida's original vote shouldn't count?

Especially given the events of the last presidential campaign, I am just astonished, nay, APPALLED, that any Democrat would even for a moment countenance the notion that there are votes from two states that simply should not be counted in the selection of the presidential candidate. If Obama "wins" under those circumstances, then it will tear the party apart...and for sure, those two states will be lost in the general election.

Democrats Miss Marks to Finance Convention

By LESLIE WAYNE
The Democratic Party is struggling to raise money for its convention in Denver on Aug. 25-28, with fund-raising by the host committee falling far short of the party’s goals and lagging behind the Republicans’ efforts for their convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

So far, the Denver host committee is about $15 million short of the $40.6 million it must raise by June 16. With only $25 million raised so far, the committee is scrambling to offer a new round of special deals for corporate underwriters, as well as to devise a backup plan should the fund-raising fall short and plans for the convention need to be scaled down.

“We will raise the money,” Chris Lopez, a spokesman for the host committee, said. “We are working every day to get it done. We are in a situation where we have to get it done and we will. We can’t make any excuses.”

There are many reasons that have been floated for the money woes faced by the Denver committee. And some are concerned that the protracted nominating fight between Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Senator Barack Obama of Illinois has made fund-raising more difficult.

The Democrats’ situation contrasts markedly with that of the Republicans, whose committee is on budget in its $39 million fund-raising drive for the Republican National Convention, to be held in Minneapolis-St. Paul on Sept. 1-4. Teresa McFarland, a spokeswoman for the host committee, said it expected to meet its June 15 target of having 80 percent of the money raised by that date.

Hey, Obama, where's Auschwitz again? And who liberated that camp?

You still seeing those dead heroes right in front of you with your "Sixth Sense," or was that limited to Memorial Day?
