I Can't Help It. I'm a Flirter.

"This movie isn't making you look ridiculous. You *are* ridiculous."

The older I get, the more I learn, and the more I realize I don't know much.

That's why this movie appeals to me.

Jews, Christians, Muslims... all nuts on some level. Even me. A Jewish woman who believes in the Eightfold Path and Four Noble Truths of Buddhism, but flirts with atheism almost every single day.

So that makes me less nuts because of my raging, ever-present doubt? Yes. Yes it does.

Why can't we admit our doubt? It's amazing to me that people will laugh at the idea of their Lord's face in a grilled cheese sandwich or shiver at the idea of Muslims in charge of a country, but they think it's perfectly okay for religion and state to mix in Israel and don't think anything of the belief that a burning bush talked to Moses.

I don't care what your sandwich tells you, no one really knows. Handle it. Or don't. Flirt with crazy or flirt with doubt.

Completely up to you.

...Or flirt with crazy AND doubt. Watch "Oh, God"- you, know, the one with John (RIP) Denver and George (RIP)Burns)- again. Cool movie. For whatever reason, we all seem to be hardwired with a need to make this world make sense. Religion is the word for how we do that. Seeking is sane, and a function of our nature, according to sociologists who note that virtually (and perhaps actually) every society that has ever existed has had some form of religion. Insanity? When we stop seeking because we think we actually know the answers (so that everyone who hasn't come to the same conclusions we have must be wrong and therefore evil).

Separation of Church and State: definitely a good idea.

I'm with you there K-Money. I doubt some of all the time. And the movie seems like a riot.

And just for the record, Good and Food do not rhyme!

You so desire to be validated that you'll try and convince yourself that you're better than others over the most mundane things.

The bigger they think they are, the harder they fall. Your's will be fun to watch.
