True,Dat. And did you SEE Bill's speech last night? Awesome. Those poor idiots at CNN looked positively glum at the end. Must have money on McCain.
Obama's speech was very, very good, a hard, meaty political speech with just a hint of the (at times) overly lofty rhetoric that other speeches of his contained. This was a speech that played like a complete symphony, at times wistful, other times trumpeting, then quiet, and then bombastic. And the crowd, all 80,000 plus, was with him.
The night was laid out, making the case for his Presidency, the way a good lawyer makes a case for his client. One witness after another, testifying either against the Republicans or for Obama, all leading up to his excellent closing.
I switched back and forth between cnn and fauxnews after the speech tonight and I couldn't believe they had watched the same speech I saw.
And Larry King's group of Repugs were thoroughly bogus, trying to tear down his speech and looking like Scott McClellan on his worst day. And Larry was insipid. (Could he be any closer to looking like the picture of Dorian Gray? And the drone of his voice... put me to sleep in seconds).
I haven't been a big Obama fan, but I knew I would have to vote for him. I have gone from grudging reluctance to enthusiasm about doing so. I'm ready for the yard sign and almost to bumper sticker...
It was a good speech. And Obama wasn't afraid to talk about some less popular stuff, either: though the crowd liked the anti-Iraq war stuff, he said the war in Afghanistan was just and needed more support. I've always felt that way, but anti-any-war feelings are pretty strong. Takes some courage to talk about that sort of stuff, too.
