I Know What I Want for Chanukah - But I Don't Think I Can Wait That Long

Like Paul's Boutique from the Beastie Boys, this movie was misunderstood at first. Now it's a respected classic, coming out with a special edition DVD, and finally getting the respect it deserves.

And, not surprisingly, I was a believer from the beginning.

I saw it in the theatre (Boston - sigh) when it came out. For the past ten years, this movie has cheered me up and made me laugh when I needed it most.

Forget blue and red, you can totally divide the country into those who get it and those who don't. I have no time for those who don't. I mean, my mother even enjoyed it.

This movie really is two hours of sheer bliss.

If you haven't already seen it, rent The Big Lebowski today. And think of me when you giggle.

Kate, you are allowed to get on my case for next 8 words:

I have never yet seen "The Big Lebowski"

I mean, I am a huge movie fan and when i was on Netflix, it was on the top of my queue at one point... But it just didn't seem like something I needed to go out and do (see the movie). Not like a Tarantino movie (I've seen them all -- only regret "Jackie Brown") or something by Scorsese.

Yet Lebowski has all the making of what I want to watch... And yet I haven't? But give me credit: I passed on watching it on basic cable for the sake of not wanting to see a butchered version of the movie (that's a standard I take with most any cult classic)

It's such a good time. I'd write down some of my favorite lines, but then I'd be here all day. See it. You won't be disappointed.

The edited version also provides some laughs but only after you see the original. I believe the line, "This is what happens when you f*ck a stranger in the ass" is changed to something about finding a friend in the Alps.

Those Coen boys. Too funny.
